Shelley: Day 32 - Speed Blogging

I've been knee deep in prep for each of the twin's parties and then I spent tonight looking at new couches because I despise the ones we have right now. They are beautiful, but they are 15 years old and the cushions have melted with time. I'm getting a neck injury looking up from them and getting out of them is a joke (they are super deep).  Anyway, I had a larger lunch so I fed my kids and had some strawberries and then when I did the math tonight, I realized I could add some vegetable soup for volume, so I did.

Today's BMR CALC:  1,866- 1,583=283 Calorie Deficit (I really need to get back in the gym to make that a bigger margin).

Shelley: Days 29, 30, and 31 - I solemnly swear to avoid Mrs. Backers until June 15th!

It's day 32 and I'm behind on blogging which is usually an indicator that I'm not doing my best. I had physical therapy on Tuesday and instead of driving straight home, I stopped by Mrs. Backers. Ugh. I got some of their flower cookies for Nancy since frosting is the best thing for all forms of injuries and even more efficatious when paired with chocolate, but I totally made the mistake of getting a slice of rum cake AND a frosting stuffed snickerdoodle sami :(.  I did really well the first day, just had one bite of each but then yesterday morning they were calling to me and I caved. So I tried to go calorie light for the rest of the night. I'm SOOOOO CLOSE to my first 20lbs.  19.9.  I think I'll feel better when I hit that first 20 mark but I've for sure slowed down. Still losing, I'm just not being as tight with my eating as I should and I've let too much garbage in.  I do my best when I stick to protein, veg and some fruit.

Julie, I love those pictures too.  When I get back to the gym, that's always the hardest part, seeing the number on the scale stay the same but knowing I'm working my butt off (literally).  I know I'm losing inches, but man is it hard to psychologically reprogram to care more about composition than just a weight number.  You are making awesome progress! If you want to suspend the $$ portion of this because you're focusing on composition, I'm fine with that. Let's just keep cheering each other on and stay committed to the process until June.

Also, I totally second the whole weather thing. I really need to start getting out for walks to start gearing up for the gym. I hate returning to the gym a pure blob.  I like to at least have a little muscle and endurance. I'll post what I ate yesterday because I believe being honest is the only way to keep myself in line but today, I am determined it will be a better day!

I love this picture showing the difference between body fat and the scale! This lady is a lean mean fighting machine. She's a trainer at F45 in Holladay.
Yes, I can tell my body is changing but the number on the scale is only down 9 lbs.in 7 weeks.
I went and met with the nutritionist today after having what I felt like a crappy 2 weeks of eating, Spring break and Jed being out of town. Yes, I tried to follow my meal plan but then there was crumble cookies, pizza factory pizza and bread twists WITH ranch (2 times 😬), egg shaped Reeses peanut butter cups, buffalo wild wings, cookies from The Store, AND chicken pot pie from June Pies. I guess I didn't ruin it too badly. In one week I lost 3.40 lbs, lost 1.70% body fat, gained 0.90 lean muscle, and lost 4.30 fat mass. A grand total of 9 lbs.,  -6.1% body fat, gained 5.44 lean muscle mass, and lost 14.44 lbs. of fat mass, all in 7 weeks.
Right here right now I PROMISE to be better at blogging...with my meal plan I just feel everything is SO mundane.
Can't wait for warmer weather so we can sit outside and chat while the kids run and play free.

Day 28: Shelley - What goes around comes around

Image result for chocolate chip cookies image

It's day 28 and spring break has definitely seen me splurge a bit. I haven't gained but I haven't been losing at the same rate either. That's ok because tomorrow is Monday and school starts again and I get my routine back! Routine is my best buddy when I'm slimming down.

I decided to make cookies today so I could resupply my freezer stash of dough for those Sunday nights when I don't feel like making a real dessert or when someone stops by and needs a treat.  We made waffles this morning and I managed to limit myself to one with just strawberries and whipped cream and then I ran away and let Jason figure out feeding the kiddos and putting stuff away. Know thyself, right?

Back to the cookies, I baked up a batch to make sure they tasted good and decided to send some over to Heidi's house for which I got a plate of cookies in return:).  Karma.  I sent them to Heidi's house because the kiddos also needed to deliver an invitation for E's birthday party. I'm only a few weeks behind so, pretty much on schedule:).
